Myanmar Rebels Gain Ground, Aim to Secure India Border

Anti-junta rebels in Myanmar's Chin state are attempting to gain control of a section of the border with India after seizing two military outposts, as part of a broader offensive against the military junta. The rebels, known as the Chin National Front (CNF), engaged in a day-long battle with Myanmar's military to capture the camps near India's Mizoram state. This offensive is part of a coordinated effort by ethnic minority forces to challenge the junta's authority, with fighting also erupting in Shan, Kayah, Rakhine, and Chin states. The Myanmar military is facing its most significant challenge since the 2021 coup, with the rebels aiming to consolidate control along the India-Myanmar border.
