Russia gains upper hand in Bakhmut fighting, says UK and Ukraine updates

The UK's Ministry of Defense has said that Russian forces have regained momentum in the battle for Bakhmut, with the city remaining at the heart of a grinding battle of attrition as Russian forces attempt to capture the strategically important location. The MOD's latest intelligence briefing said that Russia had made more gains and "has now highly likely advance into the town center." The briefing also mentioned there was a "realistic probability" that the leadership from Russian private mercenary company, the Wagner Group, and Russian military commanders had halted an ongoing feud and had managed to improve cooperation.
