Russian Drone Attacks on Kyiv Resumed After 12-Day Pause

Russia launched a drone attack on Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, the first such attack in 12 days. All of the Iranian-made Shahed exploding drones were detected and shot down. One person was wounded by falling debris. In addition, shelling continued in Ukraine's southern Kherson province, injuring a 13-year-old boy and four others. The most intense fighting was reported in Ukraine's industrial east. Ukrainian forces were advancing amid a "massive offensive" in the Bakhmut area. Russian airstrikes, missile strikes, and rocket launcher attacks targeted various regions in Ukraine. Ukrainian President Zelenskyy visited Odesa to discuss naval development. Russian officials reported shooting down a drone and facing shelling attacks. Following the Wagner chief's rebellion, Russian authorities remained defiant. Gen. Surovikin, believed to be detained after the mutiny, faces uncertainty. Poland announced the deployment of additional security forces on its border with Belarus.
