Russian missile strikes leave death and destruction across Ukraine

Russian air strikes hit cities across Ukraine, killing at least five people, including a woman and a three-year-old child in Dnipro and three people in Uman. Kyiv's air defence system shot down 21 out of 23 missiles and two attack drones. Ukrainian forces are believed to be preparing for a military offensive with new equipment supplied by Western allies. Russia has struggled to make headway in a winter offensive.
