Sudan's Ceasefire Extension Fails to Halt Fighting and Civilian Deaths.

The Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have agreed to extend a temporary truce for another 72 hours, following multiple truces that have largely been violated by both sides. The UN refugee agency has reported that around 6,000 people have fled the growing conflict in Sudan in recent weeks and have arrived in neighboring Central African Republic. The UN's top humanitarian envoy is en route to the Sudan region due to the quickly unfolding conflict and amid growing concern for those caught in the fallout. The director of the UN's World Food Program in Germany has warned that ongoing violence in Sudan could plunge East Africa as a whole into a humanitarian crisis.
