Syria's Endless War: 13 Years On.

Twelve years after the start of the Syrian conflict, the country remains in a state of war, with outside powers involved and millions displaced or in need of humanitarian assistance. The death toll is estimated to be over 300,000 civilians, with the economy in shambles and 90% of the population living below the poverty line. The conflict has resulted in the destruction of cities and cultural heritage sites, and deadly earthquakes have compounded the suffering. Despite international efforts, the Syrian government, led by President Bashar al-Assad, remains in power and is being slowly rehabilitated by some Arab countries.
