Turkish Air Strikes in Syria Kill Multiple Kurdish Forces, Escalating Conflict

Turkish drone strikes on the Kurdish-held zone in northeast Syria have resulted in at least eight deaths, according to a war monitor and a local security source. The strikes targeted a car near a military facility and a military post near the town of Amuda. Turkey has declared all Kurdish militant facilities in Syria and Iraq as valid targets following a bombing in Ankara, although the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) deny any involvement. Relief organizations have suspended their work in the area due to the strikes. Turkey has a history of carrying out air strikes against the PKK in northern Iraq and targeting the YPG in Syria.
