Ukraine's Counteroffensive Gains Ground, Russian Units Defeated

Ukraine's armed forces have reported some success in their counteroffensive against Russian forces near the city of Bakhmut. Heavy fighting and Russian drone strikes on Ukrainian cities continue, while President Zelenskiy attends NATO meetings in Vilnius. Ukrainian troops have made gains in certain sectors south of Bakhmut, but the extent of their territorial advancement is unclear. Russia has not acknowledged these Ukrainian gains and has launched kamikaze drone attacks on Kyiv and Odesa, possibly to deter NATO from providing further military aid to Ukraine.
