Ukraine's Military Offensive and Success in Bakhmut Against Russian Troops.

Ukraine's ground forces commander, Colonel General Oleksandr Syrskyi, has stated that defending the eastern city of Bakhmut is a "military necessity" and that his troops are continuing to repel heavy Russian attacks. Despite the heavy death toll, Ukraine intends to keep fighting in Bakhmut. Moscow sees capturing the city as vital to completing the capture of the Donbas industrial region in eastern Ukraine.
