Survivor: A Son's Tale of Bravery and Loss in the Face of Hamas Attack

An Israeli-American teenager survived a Hamas attack on his home in southern Israel, in which his parents shielded him from gunfire but were killed. The attack involved a barrage of rockets and ground invasion by over 1,500 attackers, resulting in the deaths of around 1,300 people, mostly civilians. The teenager played dead for 30 minutes before hiding and eventually being rescued by Israeli soldiers. His sisters also survived the ordeal. The family had been celebrating before the attack, and their parents were musicians.
