Russian-occupied Oleshky faces a total humanitarian collapse as food supplies have ceased since May, leaving roughly 2,000 civilians to survive on weeds and, in some cases, dogs. Ukrainian officials accuse Moscow of using residents as human shields and blocking aid, while the Kremlin blames Kyiv for obstructing deliveries. A recent large-scale drone airdrop by Ukraine delivered four tonnes of supplies, but Russian forces reportedly intercepted much of it. The city’s hospital is failing, and bodies remain unburied in basements due to drone threats and Russian restrictions on local burials.
