Murder investigation launched after British girl shot dead in France.

The suspect in the fatal shooting of an 11-year-old British girl in France is under investigation for murder. The 71-year-old neighbour, Dirk Raats, had been in conflict with the family over building work on their property. He shot the girl while she was playing on a swing in her garden. The suspect had gone into his home to fetch one of the guns and returned to the garden before opening fire, suggesting a level of premeditation. The victim's parents were also hurt and are in hospital.
