NATO Upgrades Surveillance Fleet to Enhance Situational Awareness

NATO has chosen the Boeing E-7A Wedgetail as its next generation command and control aircraft, with production set to begin in the coming years. The E-7A Wedgetail is an advanced early warning and control aircraft equipped with a powerful radar, providing situational awareness and command and control functions. The aircraft will replace NATO's existing fleet of E-3A Airborne Warning and Control (AWACS) aircraft and will be part of the Alliance's future surveillance and control project.
