President orders evacuation of over 3,000 people from Kherson and Mykolaiv regions.

More than 3,000 people have been evacuated from the Kherson and Mykolaiv regions in Ukraine after Russian forces blew up the dam of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant, causing flooding. Russian shelling continues even at evacuation points, and Russia is not providing any real help to the people in the flooded areas. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky thanked rescuers, military, police, and volunteers who are currently helping in the affected regions and called for Russia to bear strict responsibility for the disaster.
