Cyprus and Israel discuss gas pipeline connection.

Cyprus and Israel are discussing a new plan to export gas from Israel to Europe via a pipeline or shipping corridor from Israel's gas fields to a liquefaction facility in Cyprus. Cyprus's Energy Minister said a liquefaction plant could take about 2.5 years to build, and a pipeline with Israel about 18 months. The plan would provide Europe with an easy and inexpensive gas supply from Israel and strengthen Israel's position as an important international energy provider.
