Poland Investigated as Possible Base for Nord Stream Saboteurs

German-led investigators are examining whether Poland was used as an operating base for the sabotage of the Nord Stream gas pipelines last year. The investigators have reconstructed the two-week journey of the yacht believed to have been used in the attack, and established that it had entered Polish waters. The substance used in the act of sabotage was HMX, an explosive typically used for disrupting subsea infrastructure. The blasts occurred in the economic zones of Sweden and Denmark, and so far, countries have struggled to identify who was behind the attack.
