Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Plant Closes Final Reactor.

The last operating reactor at Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, occupied by Russian forces, has been put into "cold shutdown" due to the threat of catastrophic flooding from a nearby dam collapse. The plant's power units have not operated since September 2021. The Ukrainian nuclear power agency says there is "no direct threat" to the plant. The head of the International Atomic Energy Agency is due to visit Kyiv next week to present a new programme to help the country avoid a nuclear disaster. Ukrainian forces have launched a counteroffensive in the south of the country, potentially with the aim of retaking territory near the plant.
