Delhi's Innovative Solution: Artificial Rain to Combat Hazardous Smog

New Delhi, the world's most polluted capital, plans to induce rain for the first time in an attempt to improve air quality. The city has already implemented measures such as school closures, construction halts, and vehicle restrictions to combat the hazardous smog. Depending on legal approval and weather conditions, authorities aim to initiate rain-making efforts from around November 20. The proposal will be presented to the Supreme Court, and if successful, Delhi's environmental department plans to seed clouds using substances like silver iodine. The air quality index in the city reached "hazardous" levels, prompting the closure of all government and private schools until November 18.
