Heat wave in India claims nearly 100 lives.

At least 96 people have died in India's two most populous states, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, due to a severe heat wave. Most of the fatalities were reported in Ballia district, Uttar Pradesh, where the victims were over 60 years old and had preexisting health conditions. The India Meteorological Department has issued an alert saying heat wave conditions would last until June 19 in parts of Uttar Pradesh. A study by World Weather Attribution found that a searing heat wave in April that struck parts of South Asia was made at least 30 times more likely by climate change.
