India's Deadly Heat Wave Claims Nearly 100 Lives.

At least 96 people have died in India due to a sweltering heatwave in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh and eastern Bihar. Authorities have warned residents aged over 60 and others suffering various maladies to stay indoors during the daytime. Most of those who died were over 60 and had pre-existing health conditions, which may have been exacerbated by the intense heat. A study by World Weather Attribution found that a searing heat wave in April that struck parts of South Asia was made at least 30 times more likely by climate change.
