"Mount Everest Climbers Required to Bring Back Waste to Base Camp"

Climbers attempting Mount Everest and nearby Mount Lhotse will now be required to bring back their own excrement in special bags to be disposed of at base camp, as authorities aim to address the issue of human waste on the mountains. The Pasang Lhamu rural municipality has introduced this rule to combat the visible human stools and health concerns caused by the accumulation of excrement on the mountains. The use of poo bags, containing chemicals to solidify and deodorize the waste, is being implemented for the upcoming climbing season, with the aim of extending this practice to other mountains in the future.
