Australia Implements Ban on Recreational Vaping in E-Cigarette Crackdown

Australia plans to eliminate recreational vaping products, including those that don’t contain nicotine, in an effort to reduce the growing number of youth vapers. The nation already bans the sale of vaping products to children, and adults need a prescription to access nicotine-based vaping products. However, the rules are rarely enforced, with some vape-makers labeling their products as “nicotine-free” even when they are not. The Australian Association of Convenience Stores, whose members include several major tobacco companies, on Tuesday described the government efforts to prohibit recreational vaping as “doomed to fail.”
