Uganda passes death penalty for HIV-positive gay sex.

Uganda's parliament has passed a strict anti-LGBTQ+ bill that would approve the death penalty for people found guilty of having gay sex when HIV positive. The bill also provides for a 20-year-sentence for "promoting homosexuality". Activists argue this could, in practice, criminalise any advocacy for LGBTQ+ rights. The legislation now heads back to the President for final sign-off. He can either sign and approve it, veto it or return it again to parliament.
