UN investigation reveals EU involvement in crimes against humanity in Libya

A UN-backed inquiry has found that war crimes and crimes against humanity have been committed in Libya by security forces and armed militia groups. The report found that migrants have been systematically tortured and there is evidence of sexual slavery. The Libyan coast guard, which the European Union has supported, was cited as being responsible for abuses. The investigation was created nearly three years ago to investigate rights violations and abuses in the North African country. Evidence of war crimes and crimes against humanity will be passed on to the International Criminal Court.
