UN appeals for $3 billion to aid Sudan's crisis.

The United Nations estimates that it needs over €3 billion for humanitarian aid and refugees in Sudan, where the humanitarian crisis has been further exacerbated by heavy fighting since mid-April. The UN is asking for €2.4 billion for humanitarian aid alone, which should enable humanitarian aid agencies to treat some 18 million of the most vulnerable people in the country. The UN is also asking for €434.3 million for refugees who have fled the fighting, adding that it expected to see up to 1.1 million people leave Sudan this year.
