Ecuadorians find easier path to US migration.

Many Ecuadorians are leaving their country due to economic struggles, rising crime, and instability, with many heading to the United States. Unlike migrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela, Ecuadorians and some other countries generally face fewer hurdles and are allowed to stay in the US while they pursue asylum. The number of Ecuadorians detained near the border with Mexico has spiked, and families with children now make up about 60% of arrivals. The relative ease of current migration is fueling the increase, with many Ecuadorians following friends, family, and acquaintances to the US.
