Slovakia's Short-Lived Border Deployment to Hungary to Curb Migration

Slovakia's new government has deployed hundreds of police officers and troops along the Hungarian border to curb the increasing number of migrants illegally crossing into the country. Prime Minister Robert Fico warned of potential infiltration by individuals linked to "terrorist" groups and emphasized the need to control illegal migration. The Interior Ministry reported a significant rise in the number of migrants using Slovakia as a transit country, with almost 40,000 registered this year, 11 times more than the previous year.
