"UN Humanitarians Demand Urgent Access in Israel-Palestine Crisis"

The UN Secretary-General has condemned the acts of terror committed by Hamas in Israel and called for the immediate release of civilians being held captive. The UN health agency has pleaded for access to Gaza, where the level of death and suffering is "hard to fathom", with an average of 160 children killed daily and a total death toll surpassing 10,000. Diplomatic efforts are ongoing to secure a humanitarian pause and access to alleviate the suffering of the civilian population. Over two-thirds of Gazans have been displaced, living in inhumane conditions, and the UN has called for unhindered access for aid trucks and safe access to healthcare. The overcrowding in UN facilities in Gaza remains a major concern, and there have been numerous Palestinian deaths on the West Bank.
