"Al Shabaab captures UN helicopter and hostages in Somalia"
TL;DR
Al Shabaab militants captured a United Nations helicopter carrying two Somali men and several foreigners after it made an emergency landing in an area controlled by the Islamist group in Somalia. The aircraft, which was supposed to transport injured soldiers, encountered a defect shortly after takeoff and landed near Hindhere village. The United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia confirmed the incident and stated that response efforts were underway, while the identities and nationalities of those captured could not be independently verified. Al Shabaab, linked to al Qaeda, has been waging an insurgency against the Somali government since 2006.
