"Escalating Assaults: Houthi Missile Strikes Container Ship in Gulf of Aden"
TL;DR
A fire broke out on a vessel southeast of Yemen's Aden port after being targeted by Houthi militants, with no reported casualties. The U.S. has formed a coalition to protect Red Sea commercial traffic from such attacks, while the Houthis claim solidarity with Palestinians in the Israel-Hamas conflict. The targeted container ship, reportedly affiliated with Israel, continued to transmit signals after the incident. This comes after the sinking of the Rubymar cargo ship, the first vessel lost since the Houthi attacks began in November.
