The talks, scheduled for August 5 and 6 in Jeddah, will involve officials from around 30 countries. The aim is to reach a consensus on shared principles for resolving the war, leading to a peace summit later this year. The Ukrainian peace plan, which emphasizes territorial integrity, troop withdrawal, prisoner release, and security guarantees, will be the basis of discussions. Russia has not been invited, and a high-level US official is expected to attend. Ukraine is also set to begin talks with the US on a bilateral agreement for security guarantees.
