China warns of retaliation as EU considers sanctions for military aid to Russia.

China has warned of "strict and strong" retaliation if the European Union imposes sanctions on Chinese companies accused of selling equipment to Russia for use in the ongoing war against Ukraine. The EU has proposed sanctions on seven Chinese businesses, including two mainland Chinese companies and five from Hong Kong. China has backed Russia politically in the Ukraine war but has tried to assure the world that it is neutral. The EU has adopted 10 sanctions packages against Russian individuals and companies since the invasion of Ukraine 14 months ago.
