Chinese envoy launches peace mission to Ukraine and Russia.

China's special envoy on Eurasian affairs, Li Hui, is visiting Ukraine and Russia as part of a peace mission to broker a political settlement of the Ukraine crisis. Meanwhile, Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is visiting the UK to drum up more military support ahead of a counteroffensive. Ukraine claimed more gains in the besieged town of Bakhmut in Donetsk, eastern Ukraine, where fighting has been raging for months between Ukrainian forces and mainly mercenary fighters belonging to the Wagner Group. The UK is one of Ukraine's largest military supporters, providing masses of military hardware and training to thousands of Ukrainian soldiers.
