Colombia Takes Legal Action Against Israel's Netanyahu for Gaza Conflict

Colombian President Gustavo Petro has announced that he will bring war crime charges against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over the ongoing bloodshed in the Gaza Strip. Petro's foreign minister will meet with the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) to formally prosecute Netanyahu for the "massacre of the Palestinian people's children and civilians." This follows a similar call for prosecution by Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune. The ICC prosecutor has warned that evidence is being collected for a potential international investigation against Israel's political and military leaders. Israel, along with the United States, is not a member of the ICC and has refused to cooperate with the court's war crimes investigation into the occupied Palestinian territories.
