Ending Military Cooperation: South Korea's Stance on North Korea

South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol stated that any military cooperation with North Korea that undermines international peace must cease immediately. Yoon made this comment during a summit meeting with ASEAN countries in Jakarta, Indonesia. The statement comes amidst reports of advancing arms negotiations between North Korea and Russia, with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un planning to visit Russia soon. Yoon also expressed South Korea's intention to work closely with China and Japan to resume three-way talks on improving ties. He called for vigilance to prevent illicit North Korean activities that fund its nuclear and missile programs, including the employment of workers abroad.
