Estonia Turns to China for Assistance with Baltic Sea Telecom Cable Disruption

Estonia has reached out to Chinese authorities for cooperation in the investigation of two severed Baltic Sea telecom cables. The damage, believed to be deliberate sabotage, occurred on October 8 and has raised concerns about energy security in the Nordic region. Two vessels, one Hong Kong-flagged and the other Russian-flagged, were present at all three sites around the time of the damage. NATO has increased patrols in the Baltic Sea, and both Helsinki and Tallinn are investigating the incidents. China has called for an objective investigation, while Russia denies any involvement.
