EU and Tunisia Forge Comprehensive Partnership on Migration, Economy, and Renewable Energy

The European Union and Tunisia have signed a memorandum of understanding for a "strategic and comprehensive partnership" on irregular migration, economic development, and renewable energy. The accord aims to invest in shared prosperity and includes greater cooperation against networks of smugglers and traffickers, as well as in search and rescue operations. The EU has offered financial support to Tunisia to curb irregular migration, contingent on the approval of a loan from the International Monetary Fund.
