EU Considers Sanctions on Chinese Firms for Assisting Russia

The European Union is considering imposing sanctions on companies in mainland China, as well as in other countries, for aiding Russia in circumventing sanctions and purchasing dual-use goods. The proposed sanctions aim to target four Chinese entities, along with companies in Kazakhstan, Thailand, Turkey, Sri Lanka, India, and Serbia, as well as 11 entities in Russia. This move comes as the EU seeks to toughen sanctions enforcement ahead of the two-year mark of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. If approved, European firms would be prohibited from engaging in business with the sanctioned companies.
