EU Implements New Sanctions Against Russia for Circumvention Suspicions

The EU has agreed to an 11th round of sanctions against Russia, aimed at countering sanctions circumvention and individual listings. The sanctions forbid the transit via Russia of goods and technology that may be used by the Russian military or aid in its defense and security. The EU also agreed to add €3.5 billion to a fund used to pay for weapons for Ukraine. Meanwhile, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock promised €381 million in additional humanitarian aid to Ukraine this year, and the UK is preparing to announce a $3 billion package to Ukraine during a two-day conference focused on attracting investment to the war-torn country.
