European Parliament Panel Urges War Crimes Charges Against Israel

The European Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee has passed a resolution calling for the EU to assist the International Criminal Court in prosecuting Israel for war crimes committed in the occupied Palestinian territories. The resolution also expressed concern over Israeli "punitive measures" and called for targeted EU measures against settlement expansion in the West Bank. Additionally, the committee urged the EU to enforce policies excluding Israeli products from Judea and Samaria and labeling settlement products as not from Israel. The resolution called for the release of "all political prisoners," including members of EU-designated terrorist organizations. It also criticized countries that recognized Jerusalem as Israel's capital and called for the EU to treat Jerusalem as Palestinian. The resolution is scheduled for a plenary vote in July.
