"Global Concerns Rise as UNRWA Faces Funding Crisis and Palestinian Dreams Hang in the Balance"

The US, which froze its funding to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (Unrwa) following unproven allegations of staff involvement in an attack on Israel, has lobbied Turkey and Gulf nations to fill the gap in funding. While the US alone provides over $345m to Unrwa, a draft bill in Congress seeks to permanently ban US funding to the agency. Despite Turkey's previous additional contribution of $1m, it has not provided more funds to fill the gap, and Gulf countries have also not increased their contributions. Meanwhile, European Commission has announced an increase in funding to Unrwa, expressing confidence in the agency's neutrality.
