"Global Powers Push for Peace Talks in Ukraine Amidst Rising Tensions"

China has called for a "strategic consensus" with the EU on the ceasefire and peace talks in Ukraine. French President Emmanuel Macron's diplomatic adviser, Emmanuel Bonne, has said that France supports resolving the conflict through political negotiations and is willing to work with China to find a peaceful solution. EU leaders are likely to put more pressure on China to use its influence with Russia to end the war following President Xi Jinping's trip to Moscow. The West remains sceptical about China's peace plan for Ukraine, which has been largely dismissed because it fails to condemn the Russian invasion or call for a full withdrawal of troops from Ukraine.
