"High-Level Delegations from Israel and US Head to Cairo for Hostage Negotiations with Hamas"
TL;DR
Israel plans to send a high-level delegation, including Mossad Director Dedi Barnea and CIA Director Bill Burns, to Cairo for talks with Egypt and Qatar regarding hostage negotiations with Hamas. The delegation's departure depends on a potential shift in Hamas' stance, and Egypt has reportedly attempted to leverage Israel's planned military operation in Gaza to pressure Hamas into reaching a deal. US President Joe Biden has emphasized the importance of a hostage ceasefire, while the main sticking points in the negotiations revolve around Hamas' demand for a permanent ceasefire and IDF withdrawal from Gaza.
