Indonesia's Quiet Diplomacy in Myanmar Crisis.

Indonesia has been engaging with key stakeholders in Myanmar's conflict, including the junta, ethnic minority armies, and a pro-democracy shadow government, as well as neighbours India, Thailand, and China, in an effort to kick-start a peace process. The move is the first major effort to bring all key players to the table and push for the implementation of a peace "consensus" that Myanmar's top general agreed with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) two years ago. ASEAN leaders have been losing patience with the junta over its failure to implement the peace consensus and its continued attacks on opponents. Myanmar's generals will again be barred from attending the upcoming ASEAN leaders summit.
