International Efforts Intensify: US and UK Expand Sanctions on Hamas Financial Network

The U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has imposed a fourth round of sanctions on Hamas, targeting key officials involved in managing the group's finances and representing its interests abroad. The U.S. and the United Kingdom coordinated their designations, which aim to degrade Hamas's ability to fund attacks and destabilize the region. The designated individuals include Hamas officials and facilitators based in Gaza, Turkey, Lebanon, and the West Bank, as well as a Turkish national involved in money transfers on behalf of Hamas. The sanctions block their assets and prohibit transactions involving them. OFAC emphasizes its commitment to enabling legitimate humanitarian assistance while denying resources to malicious actors.
