Iran Seizes Multiple Oil Tankers in Gulf, US Navy Reports

Iran has seized a Marshall Islands-flagged oil tanker, Advantage Sweet, in the Gulf of Oman, according to the US Navy. The tanker had been chartered by Chevron and was headed for Houston. The vessel was boarded by helicopter, according to maritime security company Ambrey. The US Navy has called on Iran to immediately release the tanker, adding that Iran has unlawfully seized at least five commercial vessels in the Middle East in the past two years.
