Iranian Revolutionary Guard boats harass commercial ship in Strait of Hormuz, US and UK navies respond.

The US Navy and the UK Royal Navy responded to an incident in the Strait of Hormuz after Iran's Revolutionary Guard "harassed" a merchant ship. Three fast-attack Guard vessels with armed troops aboard approached the ship at close range, but the situation deescalated an hour later when the merchant vessel confirmed the fast-attack craft departed the scene. The Strait of Hormuz sees 20% of the world's oil pass through it. This latest incident comes after a series of maritime incidents involving Iran following the US unilaterally withdrawing from Tehran's nuclear deal with world powers in 2018.
