Israel Withdraws Negotiators from Qatar, Stalls Truce Talks

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has pulled negotiators from Qatar, claiming that talks with Hamas have hit a "dead end." The negotiations had previously resulted in a weeklong cease-fire and the release of hostages and prisoners. The Biden administration and other parties had pushed for a longer pause to continue hostage releases, but Netanyahu accused Hamas of not fulfilling its part of the agreement. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, during his visit to Israel, blamed Hamas for the cease-fire deal falling through and emphasized the need for Israel to consider Gaza civilians. The conflict has resulted in significant casualties on both sides, with pressure mounting for an indefinite cease-fire.
