Malaysia Defies US Sanctions, Stands Firm in Support of Palestinian Groups

Malaysia has stated that it will not recognize unilateral sanctions in response to a proposed US law targeting foreign supporters of Hamas and other Palestinian militant groups. The Malaysian Prime Minister emphasized that any sanctions against Malaysia could impact the assessment of the US government and companies towards Malaysia, as well as affect investment opportunities. Malaysia, a vocal supporter of the Palestinian cause, has long advocated for a two-state solution and does not have diplomatic relations with Israel.
