"Russian Military Plane Downed by US Patriot Missiles in Prisoner Exchange Fallout"
TL;DR
Russian President Vladimir Putin claimed that a U.S.-made Patriot air defense system was used to shoot down a Russian military transport plane in Russian territory, leading to international attention and calls for an investigation. The incident has raised concerns about the use of Western weapons by Ukraine inside Russian territory and the potential for escalation in the conflict. The UN Security Council held an emergency meeting to discuss the crash, but the circumstances remain unclear. Putin suggested that Ukraine may have downed the plane by accident, but emphasized that it would still be considered a crime.
